"Net cafe refugees," young folks who live in 24 hour internet cafe and are feared to become a new class of working poor. There are about 5,400 (by estimate) people in Japan according to the first fact-finding of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. This is the number of who have no living address and stayed more than half in a week at net cafe.
Net cafe charges by hourly, 7 hour maximum stay and it's about 3-5 dollars (it depends) and serve drinks with free refill, PC access, manga, chair (not bed) in a tiny private room.
There is not only the temporary laborers or simply homeless folks but also the young pregnant woman spend time there now.
She gets help from neither a parent nor a boyfriend, and look for a job by herself, alone.
" I'm looking for a apartment to live, but evrything is hard," There was a phone call to the public support from her, but the communication was cut off.
