Anime Central '08 in Chicago

  The 11th Annual Anime Central (acen) , the biggest convention in Chicagoland was held last weekend. (May 16-18) 

Main events (at least the ones I went to) included the Underground Groove, Masquerade Ball, Halcali and Peelander-Z concerts, and the Soap Bubble. Top that with amazing cosplays, awesome stores in the Dealer's room, and a little bit of Yaoi and that completes the best weekend of my life.   (S.P)

                                                                        The latest Vol. 19 of popular manga-comics "NANA" released on Thursday on 15th by Shueisha records megahit making a profit of about 800,000 copies on the first week.

It largely exceeded 505,506 copies that another monster manga "NARUTO 42" (Shueisha) recorded.

It recorded the sales number of copies in the best week through all book rankings of the "BOOK" "library" "comics" "new book" "business book".

The story is about that  two NANA which came across accidentally in. The series starts in "Cookie" (Shueisha) in July, 2000. Currently, the popularity spreads through the various countries in the world, such as U.S.A., France, a Korea, etc.

Yatter man is returning

In 70-80's, this funky anime series "YATTER MAN" made children crazy. And again, they are returning to TV (and a live-action movie too) and became mega-hits.

These 2 kids are in search of the skeleton stone which showed whereabouts of a large sum of money vein in somewhere on the earth. And of course there is a villain. A fight with the Dorombo gangs is really hilarious.

A format and the character of the story, the machine are basically same as 30 years ago. There seems a lot of funny episodes, parodies that not only for the children but also adult can enjoy. Of course.    Official site

Rescued girl

Yang (18 years old), the eleventh grader who took a class with 40 classmates at the time of earthquake outbreak in China.

Both her legs  were smashed  to the beam which collapsed, and it took 30 hours passed till she was found. However, her survival was confirmed, she was in danger of the collapse of the building if the rescue party move a beam and they couldn't be involved carelessly.

The choice whether or not they cut her both legs was not easy and It took 38 hours to decide.

The rescue party soon found  that legs had already necrotized by the pressure of the long time and sentenced her to cut off both legs.

She answered  "I am all right. There is no sense of the foot anymore" with smile.　A shout of joy and big applause to rescued Yang from a rescue party and the crowds.
