Japanese oldest anime (one-frame shooting technique to exist-type cartoon film) "Namakura Katana - The dull sword" is discovered, and it is shown at "Excavated movies 2008" opened in Tokyo National Museum of Modern Arts film center (Tokyo / Kyobashi) from next Apr. 24th.
They regards it as "a precious work approaching the origin of the Japanese cartoon film history"
Natsuki Matsumoto (55) of the video culture historiographer found it with animated cartoon "Taro Urashima" of the Seitaro Kitayama product in a flea market in Osaka last July.
It was then sent to a specialized supplier for restoration by a flammable dyeing print with both works and made full use of traditional dyeing technique and the latest digital technology and revived.
"Namakura Katana - The dull sword" shows for the first time in Tokyo / Asakusa in 1917.
